Twin suicide attacks occurred in Kerman on January 3, 2024, killing some 91 people and wounding 284 others.
A day later, the terrorist group ISIL claimed responsibility for the attacks that targeted people who were on their way to visit the grave of Martyr Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani four years after he was assassinated in a US drone strike in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
The same day, the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence issued a statement in which it announced that it identified and arrested perpetrators and supporters behind the Kerman suicide bombings
