Martyrdom of Hazrat Hamza and the Demise of Shah Abdul Azim

Abdolazim,P.B.U.H., son of Abdollah ibn Ali, is one of grandsons of Imam Hassan (P.B.U.H). He was born in Medina in 173 H. His life was concurrect with Imam Reza (P.B.U.H), Imam Jawad (P.B.U.H) and Imam Hadi (P.B.U.H) and has narrated many narrations from those saints. In many narrations, the visit paid to his tomb is tantamount to that of Imam Hossein (P.B.U.H). Abdolazim (P.B.U.H), also was not safe from animosity of the califs and his life was menaced several times, so he had to travel to Rey (Iran).

Hazrat Hamza (RA) was born in Makkah, Saudia Arabia in 570 CE. His father was Abdul Mutallib, who was also the father of Hazrat Abdullah (father of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which made Hazrat Hamza (RA) the paternal uncle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He was a member of the Quraish tribe and enjoyed an honorable position in society. He was famous for his unmatchable strength and courage. Not, only this but he was also liked by the people of Makkah due to his kind and humble behavior. Hazrat Hamza (RA) was one of the closest companions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). As he was a respectable personality of Makkah and when he accepted Islam, many other people of Makkah followed his footprints and turned towards Islam. He was martyred during the Battle of Uhud, and he was initially buried at the site of the battle. However, the specific location has not been preserved or identified. The exact location of Hazrat Hamza’s grave is not known.

In commemoration of the 15th of Shavval, coinciding with the martyrdom of Hazrat Hamza and the demise of Shah Abdul Azim, the students were informed about some of Shah Abdol Azim blessings during the morning assembly of the school.
